On the eve of Australia Day, neither Sam Stosur or Lleyton Hewitt gave the local crowd too much to cheer about at Melbourne Park, with both the Australians falling to the respective world No. 1’s in the fourth round. Said Serena Williams after her defeat of Stosur: “It's important when you're playing a local girl to not let the crowd get too involved or else they'll kill you. That was the plan to not let them get involved.”
