Crowe and Bond join New Zealand Board
Martin Crowe and Shane Bond have joined the New Zealand cricket committee as non-board members. The former cricketers have been included along-with Gerard Gillespie to the committee following New Zealand’s disastrous tour of Bangladesh.
The committee is head by the board’s chief Chris Moller and other members include High Court Judge Sir John Hansen, Rob Hart and Stephen Boock. The cricket board founded the committee after New Zealand’s 4-0 drubbing in the recently concluded One-day International
series in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747.
Bangladesh sits at the bottom of the ICC rankings as they are the number 8 ranked side in the world in ODIs. However, they whitewashed the Kiwis in an ODI series at home and it was their first series win against a top-flight side in the world.
The Cricket Board Committee has been founded in order to restore the lost faith back into the exhausted http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 side. The representatives will look to discuss the matter of New Zealand’s poor performances in recent times and to improve the structure
of domestic cricket.
Gerard will peep into the domestic matters as he possesses knowledge about New Zealand first-class cricket from the grass-root level. Meanwhile, Shane Bond and Martin Crowe were included to provide their expertise and knowledge about noble cricketing matters
in the country.
One of the members of the committee, Boock said, “The NZC board believes the formation of the cricket committee with the appointment of such highly talented external members is a very significant step, and recognises the need to harness the knowledge, experience
and skills of the entire cricket family. "The objective of the committee is to assist the board to promote, develop and foster cricket in New Zealand by gathering information from all areas of cricket, combining it with the views of the committee and providing
this information as advice to the Board."
However, Cricket New Zealand has not made any changes in the board and the team as they have just established a committee to look into the cricket matters. After the Bangladesh debacle, the cricket board urged the Kiwis to improve their performance in India.
Moreover, New Zealand displayed a better show in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 as they played above their potential in the Test series, though lost the three-match series by a margin of 1-0. On the other hand, the One-day series has been a one sided contest as India has rattled
the visitors by a margin of 4-0. Fifth match of the series is going to be played today.
The Kiwis have lost last 8 of their matches in the limited overs version of the game, so a consolation victory over the Indians in the 5th game will at-least end their losing streak.
