Crowning Star gets bookmakers’ nod for £32 Free At 32Red.com Handicap at Southwell
Crowning Star has been given the highest starting price for the £32 Free At 32Red.com Handicap, scheduled to take place at Southwell on Tuesday, April 24, 2012.
The three-year-old is in great form these days. After securing the runner-up place in three successive races, the bay gelding broke the shackles at the start of last month.
Lingfieldpark.co.uk Handicap saw him finishing first on the podium by ¾ a length. After grabbing the winning cheque, he did not relax and went on to clinch another victory earlier this month.
In the 32RedPoker.com Handicap at Wolverhampton, g*y Kelleway’s trainee displayed a wonderful performance and ensured the top place by staggering seven lengths.
The 3-1 joint favourite, Casa Bex, tried hard to spoil his party, but Crowning Star retained his advantage right through the meeting. After two back-to-back wins, the Countrywide Classics Limited-owned is full of confidence.
If he manages to demonstrate an equally good show this time around, he will be able to find his hat-trick. The punters do not have much time to make their moves, as the 1-mile event is about to begin.
According to the plan, the proceedings will be started at 19:05 GMT. Among the participants are: Crowning Star, Fennell Bay, Travis County, Outlaw Torn and Inya House.
No one is in good position to challenge Crowning Star, but an upset cannot be discarded. Fennell Bay, who was not impressive last time out, is expected to bounce back.
After staying out of action for more than five months, the three-year-old returned to the ring at the end of last month.
In the Best Odds Guaranteed @ williamhill.com Handicap, he could only seize the sixth place on the chart. He would be under pressure after a poor show, but one cannot rule him out of the equation.
Outlaw Torn has been unlucky over the past few months. The 32RedPoker.com Handicap saw him missing the runner-up spot by ¾ a length.
Crowning Star has an obvious chance to win today. His opponents would find it difficult to outpace him on the track. We wish the best of luck to all runners.
