Crows Nest In Gloucester, MA=Good or Bad?

Question

looking for a cheap place to stay, near a beach in Gloucester MA or somewhere not too far away from Boston..

If you know anything about The Crows Nest or any other place that is cheap, by beach and not too far away from Boston that is at least fairly nice that would help me a lot!

I am trying to go in a few days though so i need a place to stay!!

If you know of any other place besides Gloucester that has a nice beach and places to stay (maybe some shopping?) that would also help A LOT!

There is a place in gloucester called the good harbor beach inn. it borders a large beach called good harbor beach. there are many shops down the road like supermarkets. there are many good resturants like the gloucester house with alot of sea food. the gloucester house is slow on unbusy nights. good luck and have fun

The Crows Nest is not someplace you would want to stay. If you are going to be in Gloucester, you will need a car to get around.

You would be better off going to Rockport (7 miles  from Gloucester). It's an artist colony with quaint shops, good restaurants and shopping. There are two beaches to choose from and many hotels and inns. You can take the train from Boston ( an hour ride) and you will not need a car in Rockport.  You can also go Whale Watching and deep sea fishing. I would suggest Rockport and if you want to visit Gloucester you can take the train. The Crow's Nest used to be a dump until the movie. Then they polished up their apple. Good luck if you go.
