Crucial to our survival - but it's not happening?

Question

Global warming / flooding / hurricanes / power cuts / droughts / famines / disease - the need for decent emergency shelters is evident but the most we can hope for is a bit of space on a cold floor in a sports hall or school...

if those don't flood...

The obvious solution is an emergency shelter that is water-proof

but the old school aren't interested cos "it" means

mortgage-free /rent-free / hassle-free / maintenance-free...

They want to carry on capitalising on the same old misery...

WAH!

Will we ever get it together?

There's one scientific theory may need to be revisited:

We seem to be no more capable of stopping our own overpopulation and depletion of resources than a jar of fruit flies.  Human cultures have done it over and over again throughout history.  This time it simply happens to be on a global scale.

If you feel that strongly about it, perhaps you should build yourself an underground shelter which in bomb proof, radiation proof, chemical and biological hazard proof and flood proof (use a long snorkle to bring the filtered air into your facility).  Stock up with a ten year supply of tinned and freeze dried food, one thousand gallons of water and be ready to sit out the end of the world in relative safety.  

Don't bother trying to save the rest of us, because for the most part it's a lost cause.

Those who will chose right will have grater chance to survive... other are free to give up... Maybe instead of arguing we should spread in groups, respect each others ideas and rights... and maybe even help each other despite different minds... Alternative is a choice... promoting it is many times better than some products adverts that pop out sometimes to really inappropriate people... People are destructive... and intelligence is not a perfect formula avoiding mistakes... and its jungle law... that not all will survive... but its intelligence sparkle... that we can save... more than mindless would do... With wish for you all to know more about value of your lives...

The only way is to give the people education! As in the website u suggested or Permaculture. We have been striving for years to make this planet as it should be, & have had some success. I agree the old school capitalism is a hard nut to crack, but the wheels of change are happening,. I hope wer'e not too late. Keep on trying, please.

Just use your car as an emergency shelter.  That way you can move to safe ground whenever there's trouble.
