Cruise Cabin help?

My family is planning a cruise for this summer and I really want my boyfriend to go. He would pay for himself. So anyways my family is a family of 4 and we usually get a cabin with the queen bed for my parents, bunk bed for me, and the pullout couch for my sister. So if my boyfriend comes where is he going to sleep? Can we like get a connecting room? (I'm 17 and he's 18) my parents probably wouldnt let us share a separate room alone.... any suggestions?

  1. maybe you can get a connecting room and put your sister in it?

or you guys can take turns sleeping on the floor.

  2. Trust me, you do not want 5 people in a room, $ was pushing it. There must be an adult, I think they define that as 25, reserving the room.

  3. parents can have their own room. great for them. they can make sure nothing happens by having your sister sleep with you two in another room.

  4. get a joint room if possible. otherwise he may just have to have a room next door.

  5. Sleep with your sister and let your boyfriend have the bunk bed or the other bunk (usually 2 beds if bunk otherwise it is twin bed).

You'll have to call the cruise line to see if they allow that many people in one room.  Adjoining room would be extremely expensive in this part of the ship for one person.

  6. I think they would only let you if you split them up - one parent in one room and the other in a second room.  Two rooms is a lot more expensive than one, so he would need to pay a lot to cover the extra.  Also, it probably wouldn't be a fun vacation for your parents to be in separate rooms.  Whethere or not they go for it depends on how much your parents like your bf and want him around on this trip.

I think your best bet is buying a phone card with minutes (if you don't have a cell phone) so you can call him when you get to your ports of call and try not to ruin what should be a fun family vacation because you want him along.  When you are 18, you can do whatever you want.

  7. Well if there is a bunk bed, wouldnt there be 2 bunks? If so then there is no problem. You can ask for 2 rooms conjoining, or 2 rooms next to each other. You can always sleep with your sister...*

  8. do they offer a roll away cot or bed?

  9. Get a connecting room for sure.  They will have to put one room in your dad's name and one room in your mom's because of age, but you can mix it up however you want,  it's not like they are going to be checking up on you.  I'd suggest letting your parents have their own room and having your sister come in yours.  Either she can have the bed and you & your boyfriend could have the bunk and pull out, you could have the bed (share with him?), she could have the pull out, you & your sis could share the bed (this way your parents would know he's not going to sneak on in if they don't want you to in there together) and he could have the bunk or pullout... there are so many possibilities :)  Try to make it so your parents get a room to themselves... let them do their own thing.  If your boyfriend goes, be sure not to forget your sister!  It is her vacation, too and it might ruin it for her if you are distracted the whole time... and make her feel like a 3rd wheel, etc.

WOW this was not intended to be this long sorry!!!

  10. he should get his own room. but if there is a bunk bed.. that usually means there are 2 beds... and if your sister sleeps on the pullout couch... can't he sleep on the other bed?

  11. See if you can get connecting rooms or rooms close to each other. Your dad and boyfriend can stay in one room, while you, your mom and sis stay in the other.

  12. Your two best options would be to reserve a suite, or on some cruise lines the ships have family bedrooms/cabins.  The suite would be more expensive for the first two people but a lot less for the other three.  So look for a cruise ship that has family cabins or a suite that fits your pocketbook
