Cruise Holidays for under 40s?

Hi - thinking of going on a cruise with my fiance as a different kind of holiday this year. We are both 32 and a bit worried that it will be full of old folk. would like to hear from anyone under 40 who has been on one and what was your experience?

The American companies like Royal Caribbean and Carnival would be fine I went on Royal Caribbean last year and there were lots of people our age (we are in our 20's) and we had lots of fun!!  But if you maybe want to do a cruise but not have to do the whole dressing for dinner and havin to dine with same people night after night then why not try Ocean village its very relaxed and its aimed at a younger clientel Ive been on them too and they were great and there cabins are some of the biggest on the market o you will have lots of space.

Sure there will be some older people but these are new days for the cruise industry it seems that most of the lines i have been on had a good mix of all ages. My favorite is Royal Caribbean.

My husband and I, both in our early 20s took a Carnival Cruise for our Honeymoon.  I was actually surprised at the wide age range on the ship and how easily we socialized with everyone.  We had such a great time, we are going on the same ship again for our Anniversary.

Typically sailings longer than 10 days attract an older crowd.  The same with sailings on luxury lines like Cunard, Silversea, or Celebrity.

Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Disney, NCL and to a lesser extent Princess target a younger age group.

Commonly you'll find lower prices and a younger crowd on Carnival.

Royal Caribbean targets active folks as evidenced by their rock climbing walls and on larger ships inline skating, ice rinks etc...

Disney is family oriented with no casinos onboard, they can also be expensive.

NCL has a interesting product with lots of activities, but passenger satisfaction has been declining over the last few years.
