Question:

Cruise Lines...?

I have been on two cruises...both Disney. First I went on a 3-day cruise, loved it, and then went on a 7 day cruise. However, my parents are saying that Disney is hands down more expensive than most other cruise lines (althougj I think the money is worth it.) So they say the next cruise we go on...possibly next spring break...won't be Disney. They have been on a Princess cruise by themselves and I think that is the line that we might end up going on. But my question is what cruise lines are better than others? Which ones do you enjoy most?

  1. You could recommend cruises from Elite Travel to your parents to have a look at. These cruises are pretty cheap and provide some very good on-board services.

  2. IMO the best cruise lines are Holland America and Oceania. If you want a lot to do on board, Royal Caribbean has everything: a rock climbing wall, an ice skating rink, lots of shops, a Starbucks, etc.

  3. for teens and kids carnival is the on that matches up to Disney the most all day they have stuff for us kids to do and i have been on 16 cruises so far and carnival is the best

  4. I have been on 8 cruises with Princess and all of them were great. Don't worry if they choose Princess. I don't know how old you are, but they have special stuff just for kids and even like night clubs for teens only. Plus if you don't like the fancy type of food, You can always get pizza, burgers fries, and hot dogs right by the pool. Also on some of the cruises ice cream is free at 3pm in the buffet court. There is lots to do on Princess cruises, even a video game room. You will love it.

  5. I have been on many cruises with 4 different cruise lines, but not on Disney.  But I can tell you this.  The cruise line that I enjoy the most AND that has the best activities on board is Royal Caribbean.  Princess, which I have been on 3 times, has great ships and some things for kids to do.  But they do not compare to RC.

Royal Caribbean ships have the rock climbing wall, the roller blade track, ice skating rink, a full sized basketball/volleyball/tennis court, a mini-golf course, and for the kids a place called Adventure Ocean where kids can hang out and have fun.  Then for teens they have a teen disco/club called Fuel, plus a video arcade and a Johnny Rockets diner.

Tell mom and dad to look at going on an RC ship, either the Freedom class: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruis...

    or the Voyager class:  http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruis...

Have them look at the links above.

My recommendation is that you go on the Freedom, or Liberty of the Seas out of Miami.  Both do Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries.

  6. Not to worry, all cruise lines are good. We have only been on Carnival and Princess, but have talked with other passengers about other cruise lines. We've never heard anything bad about any of them. I'd say Carnival, RCC, and Disney would be the 3 most accomodating to the younger crowd, but all have activities for kids and teens as well as all ages.
