Question:

Cruise Question!?

This will be my first cruise and have heard different opinions about everything I will need. I went clothes shopping this past weekend and got shorts, capris, tank tops, short sleeve shirts and another bathing suit. My mom and sister keep telling me that I need to get a sun dress or skirt too. I have a nice evening gown/dress for the captains dinner. My point to them was that I will be on vacation and shouldn't have to worry about wearing dresses. Do I really need one? I am not that much of a girly girl that I need to dress up all the time. I love being in shorts, tank tops and flip flops. I need some opinions from people who have been on a cruise. Thanks in advance for your help.

  1. Sundresses are not necessary. My entire honeymoon I only dressed up once. I do recommend bringing a pair of jeans though because it can get pretty chilly on deck at night. My best memory was my husband and I going on deck at 1 am in our pajamas and playing shuffleboard and drinking. Didn't need to dress up for that. You only need a skirt or dress for the captains dinner.

  2. Why would you really need one?  I don't prefer to wear dresses....there are still nice clothes you could buy instead of a d**n dress.  Just because you are a girl doesn't require you to have a dress.  And yes, you are on VACATION!  Don't listen to your mom and sister.  Be yourself and don't listen to other people.  Make your style your own....you don't have to be like them.  They'll get used to it.

  3. Its all about enjoying your vaction and taking a break from everyone you know. So no, i dont agree with your family. Wear whatever you want but i do suggest that you bring a couple of warm clothing because it can get a bit chilly at night and inside. If your there to meet cute guys I dont see anything wrong to bring a couple of cute outfits but if you already have that then dont worry about it. Just enjoy your trip.

  4. bring two sundresses. and be thankful some one is paying for you to have what millions only dream of!

  5. Ive been on the royal carribean and there was a formal dinner for one night and about 40% of the guests dressed formal and 60% dressed casual. Just wear a skirt and a collard shirt and you will be fine.

  6. A little black dress is always handy, you can dress it up or down depending on the theme of the evening
