Cruise Ship Officers

Question

HI,

I have been reading up on what people on Y!A have to say about working on cruise ships and I have a few questions of my own as I am about to begin training to become an Engineering Officer for Carnival UK.

Can anyone with experiance describe the pro's and con's to being an Officer (Crew) over Staff. I have heard in a previous post that officers do not have to share cabins?, is this true? I know I will be sharing during my training.

Just any more info from someone who is in the know would be amazing.
