Question:

Cruise Ship Suite Question?

by  |  earlier

I want to book a suite on a ship (which ship does not matter at this time). Is it better to get one on the bow so you can see where you're going, or on the stearn so you can see where you've been? How big of a factor is the wind if I get one in the bow? Also, no matter which one I get, is it better to be on a higher deck or lower deck? I'm not concernedwith price at this time, but probably will be later.

Thanks

  1. Do you get motion sick?  Basically your room will not look out really front or back so the view doesn't change much.  However the center of the ship is a LOT less rocky than being at the front or back.  The wind can be a HUGE factor.

As for higher deck, that all depends.  A higher deck is less stable--it's more rocky so it's worse for motion sick people.  You are closer to the action so less walking.  But all suites are on the higher decks anyway.  What I really check is the distance my suite is from the casino and the night clubs.  I'm not an extreme night owl and I can't stand all the noise if you are too close.

  2. Well most newer ships tends to have theyre finest cabins in the stearn (with balconys) and that makes much more sence. In the stearn you are protected from the speedwind and that could make forward facing balconys useles more or less. So of theese two I would say the stearn. But Ill guess that the cheaper suits tends to be midship and that generaly the best location from a motion standpoint. But any cabins is ok Ill guess.

But before you put youre head down into this matter I would recomend you to look over the following questions:

In most cases just booking a suite want give you that much better service and so on. In most cases (celiberty is an exception) all you get from the bettest standard cabin to the lowest suite is a bigger cabin. Is the price tag worth that?

Try to read the fineprints on whats included in the suite service vs the standard cabin and see what of it you want and what you want to pay for it. For example, if you choice one of cunards finer suites youll get a dinnertable in one of theyre grill reasturants and that could be worth some bugs if you can afford them. Its that sorts of quality you should seek, not just booking a suite. Johan.
