My sister has family in ST. Croix , USVI and Florida. The recommendation is to do a cruise wedding to hit both location.

Can you share your thoughts. I posted my question previously and this was her response.

Anyway neither of them answered the question really. And, I think the question should have been more like, what they thought was a good solution to having a number of family and friends both places and trying to accommodate most. And I say most cause I’m sure that no matter what you do you can’t accommodate everybody.

  1. I have booked my cruise wedding for December 9, 2009 and will be sailing on RCL's Freedom of the Seas.  I have invited everyone and already sent out save the date's for anyone who are interested in booking.  So far I have 16 people booked and its still over a year away. I will be married at the Emerald Beach Resort in St. Thomas.  So far everything has been really simple and taken care of.  I think its a great idea for anyone wanting to have a intimate wedding.  I am having a reception back home around a month later.   I say go for it!

  2. I've never been to St. Croix, but I've been to the USVI. Personally, (I'm a 20 year old college student), I thought the USVI we're very beautiful and relaxing, but kind of boring. If you bring a lot of people down there and have people to hang out with, it should be a fun time. However, If it's just the two of y'all, you might want to pick a more lively place.

    Good luck, and congratulations!

  3. If you do a Cruise Wedding, it should be at the Cruiser. It will be more fun. Out of the Cruiser, there is not much time to have a real celebration. Believe me, you will really enjoy it at the Cruiser. It is beautiful and there is a lot of fun. You both will enjoy it.

    God bless you.

  4. I think its a great idea. most cruise (princess i know for sure) have group rates for more people. you could get a good rate for everyone that wants to go.

Is she going to have two ceremonies? On in USVI and one in St. Croix or what?

Anyway, good luck, and remember to pack sun block, sun rays off the ocean burn no matter what color your skin is.
