Cruise age limits?

Is there an age limit to watch those shows with the dancers? I am planning to go to the Ectasy from Carnival and am going with a 13 yr old and a 9 yr old. Will I be able to keep them with me to watch the shows? People say they are the best attractions on the ship.

  1. With the exception of the midnight "adults only" comedy shows, all shows on Carnival are open to all ages.  There are warnings at the beginning of some shows stating that the costumes are "vegas style" and may be objectionable to some parents.  But there is no sheer nudity, and I saw families with children of all ages attending these shows.

Enjoy your cruise.  And be sure to check out Cruisecritic.com for more great cruise tips.  That is my absolute favorite website about cruising.

I believe all the topless sun decks have been removed from the carnival cruise ships as of about 2 months ago.

  2. As a general rule the early shows are for everyone.  The later ones can be risque, but not always.

  3. Carnival has a wide variety of shows, I have been on with my 10 and 12 year old, we took them to some of the shows and they where great with lots of dancing and music, there dress for the show where better than how the passages dressed at the pool. their was a Vegas show with g-strings that we opted out of, they where very good to let you know in advance that this would be in the show. there were also late night show that where 18 and over only, (we did not go to these either)

The Carnival Capers that you get every morning will tell you all you need to know for what may or may not be what you want.

  4. I think that's OK. Most of the song and dance shows on cruise ships are family shows. If there is an age limit, it will be posted on your daily cruise bulletin that the ship's crew prepare for all passengers every morning. Also cruise lines (especially "family" lines like Carnival) have kids' programs which are set up a little like day camp with counselors organizing different activities depending on age group. So don't worry about your kids, they'll be fine.

  5. no age limit they just won't be able to drink .

  6. Some of the shows are ok.  Some are not.  If you read your Carnival Capers, it will tell you what shows are for adults only.

  7. there is no age limit for these shows....anyone can go to the shows...and i go on 2 cruises a year, and they are definitely the highlight of the day =] any questions, send me a message

  8. We took 19 people on the Ecstasy in 2005.

There are no age limits set by Carnival.  However, be aware that the dancer's costumes are Vegas style.  Nothing topless but many of the costumes so off the dancers best assets...

There were several wardrobe "malfunctions" during the show we attended with our 11 and 9 year old.  That was the highlight of the show for them!

There is a topless sunbathing deck on the Ecstasy but my brothers told me the only thing topless on that deck was the old, fat bald guys!

You may want to consider getting a pair of the 2-way radios to keep in touch with the kiddos while on board the ship.  It prevents missed check-in sessions, etc.  It gave our girls freedom but us piece of mind while they were enjoying the teen events.  You can get them at Wal-Mart, Target, Radio Shack.

The kids are not allowed in the casino, even with you.

Allow plenty of time for boarding.  The port of Galveston can be a zoo.

Take plenty of $1, 5 and 10 to shop in the open air market.  You can get some great deals in Progresso.
