It is a cruise for 2010 and I need to know some cruise lines with reasonable prices. We were thinking Freedom of the Seas by Royal carribean or a Princess cruise.

  1. Check out vacationstogo.com they have reasonable prices

  2. you should go on a Disney cruise they have family reunion packages its you add $49.00 per person to a cruise it can be 3,4or7night cruise

  3. We had a family reunion on the Monarch of the Seas, a Royal Caribbean Line, and they gave us group rates, it ended up that we all paid only $200.00 per person, and we booked it through a Cruise coordinator, it was just from Friday thru Monday, well worth it, and the food was wonderful and plenty of things for kids to do.

  4. Try Carnival Cruise Line they will give you a group discount rate. And there is always something to do for every age.

  5. I have been on about 20 cruises and many on Royal Caribbean and also have been on the Freedom of the Seas.  Its a great ship for a family reunion because it has areas specifically for family members of all ages.  From the adults only Solarium that has a pool and two hot tubs, to the H2O Zone that is a water park for kids to the Adventure Ocean and Fuel areas that are for kids of all ages.  It has the rock climbing wall, a mini-golf course, a full sized basketball/tennis court, an ice skating rink, a fabulous free ice capades type show, THE best gymnasium I have seen on ANY ship, and the flowrider which is  a place where kids and adults can body surf right on ship.

Princess is also a great cruise line with very lovely and well decorated and appointed ships.  But Royal Caribbean has more on-board activities for families than does Princess.  Some people will tell you to go on Carnival and it is a cruise line that some people love and other hate.  Its a budget line that has some good ships, but not as good as the Freedom class RC ships.

If you are interested in the freedom, also consider going on one of its twin sister ships which are identical, the Liberty of the Seas and Independence of the Seas.  The Liberty, like the Freedom, does cruises in the Eastern and Western Caribbean and both ships use the Royal Caribbean private island port stop, Labadee.  Both the Freedom and Liberty have cruises departing from Miami.  The Independence will depart from Ft Lauderdale and do some Caribbean cruises and also so trans Atlantic and Mediterranean, and with departures out of Southampton, England.

You are right on track to begin planning your cruise now because RC always gives the best discounts for early bookings.  In addition, if you search RC's web site you will note that certain dates are highlighted as "hot deals' and/or "special pricing".  While they do not have the 2010 cruises up yet, they more than likely will sometime late in this year as they usually have at least 1&1/2 years cruises listed on their site.  The prices listed are for the first two people per cabin but the third or fourth persons in the same cabin will be about half or less the listed price for double occupancy.

You should really talk with a RC representative on the phone, or use  a travel agent, because with a group you should get an even lower group rate.  In addition it will be easier to get your cabins in close proximity, or the types that you want, and you can get your table seatings as you want them easier by phone or agent (who will take to them on the phone).

  6. While Princess is family friendly, its ships cannot match the Freedom of the Seas (or its sisters, Liberty of the Seas and Independence of the Seas) for being family friendly.  Princess has pools and a children's center.

Freedom of the Seas has pools, ice skating, a Flowrider (a surfing simulator) ...

rock climbing, miniature golf and a miniature water park known as the H2O Zone ...

The Freedom of the Seas (and its sisters) also have all the adult activities that Princess has (a casino and several lounges and bars).

If your group is large enough (eight or more cabins) check into getting a group rate.

  7. Where are you going and for how long?
