  1. http://www.hollandamerica.com/

they have an excellent package to Alaska and other destinations! and their ship is amazing!!! check out the website and take the virtual tour!

    good luck and Congrats!

  2. I did that cruise on the Carnival Spirit in 2005 and had a great time.

  3. I am on a cruise tour now. The best way to see Alaska. Go to Princess.com I am on 9N.11 days. Princess also has you stay at 5 star lodges where others only 4 star. Princess offers best rates, more casual dress. The crew is great.

This is my 20th cruise here.

  4. we live in the UK.

This was the first cruise we ever did.  Now done 16!

Princess gave us excellent service. Still regard it is one of the best cruises we have ever done.

Get a balcony - you will love it - or regret it if you don't!

  5. Princess and Holland America both have been sailing to Alaska longer than any other line, and both have very extensive programs to Alaska.  If you are interested in doing an Alaska cruise tour (a cruise and then a land portion afterwards)  Princess and Holland America have the best offerings.

Princess tends to attract more families and an overall younger crowd than Holland America.  Holland America tends to attract an older crowd, however you will also find a lot of multi-generational families onboard Holland America especially in Alaska.

While they don't have as extensive offerings as Princess or Holland America, both Royal Carribbean and Celebrity are also good options to Alaska.  Neither have the extensive cruise tour offerings as HAL or Princess, but both lines have some great ships and itineraries from Vancouver.

It's really hard to make a good recommendation here, as some line suit folks better than others.  I'd suggest contacting a travel agent that specializes in cruises.  I recommend Cruise Planners at 888-286-9827 www.mycruiseplanner.net.  They are very experienced especially in Alaska, offer the same deals as the cruise lines and the big online travel sites, and unlike the big travel sites they don't charge service fees...
