  1. All of the cruise lines except Carnival require that at least one (1) person in each cabin be age 21 or older. Carnival requires that at least one person be at least age 25. So you can book a cruise on any cruise line except Carnival.  But that still gives you several choices fro cruises from California ports to Mexico.

But there is another age requirement that you need to be aware of.  If you are under age 21 and traveling with someone other than a parent you MUST have a statement signed by your parents granting you permission to go on the cruise.   The cruise line will tell you exactly how the permission letter must be prepared and the letter must be notarized.

It would be great if you had passports but they will not be absolutely required until the summer of 2009.  Right now you can use a certified copy of your birth certificate to prove citizenship and a photo ID like a driver's license to prove identity.

Most cruises to Mexico on RC and NCL are 7 days or more so your options are limited.

  2. carnival...

a lot of younger people go on that and they are so much fun!

they have things to do for all ages and it is not to formal.

they also have really good rates, probably the cheapest.

they have a lot of ports too..

carnival is the way to go!

  3. Do not go on Carnival. They are a badgut line in the worst sense of the fraze. I have had a bad experience but my brother has been on one so you can relate to this more because he is also 21.

He went on a cruise with his wife thinking that he would be getting a fun vacation with just him and his wife. Carnival is "The Fun Ships" rite? Haha WRONG!!! They hated it. They both complained about the same things. The staff was rude, the ship smelled and was poorly layed out and designed, the food only ranged from terrible to just barely edible, there were un-supervised kids EVERYWHERE, the ship broke down and they had to skip a port, the water slide was the only "Fun" thing about this ship and it wasn't even open half the time. He said that if your idea of fun is drinking and gambling than go with carnival because thats ALL they do. Also it should be noted that the decor may look fantastic from a distance or in a picture, but upon closer inspection it is mostly synthetic, plastic, and just plain ugly.

We all went on a family trip(including my brother and his wife) on Royal Caribbean to a much more positive response. It was great, simply the best. The food was wonderful, the ship was clean and beautiful(not gaudy and overdone las vegas style like on carnival). The staff makes you feel like the king or queen of the boat. They are so nice, friendly, and helpful. If you go on any Royal Caribbean cruise don't be suprised when your cabin steward greets you by name or the bartender remembers you like an extra olive in your drink. The ships are also by far more innovative and have more and better activitie so there is something for everyone.

My adcive, dont waste your money on carnival and go with Royal Caribbean, you cant go wrong with them.

Hope I Helped, and Happy Sailing

  4. definitly try royal carribean or if your more into partying try carnival
