Cruise line employment contract question.?

When a cruise line states,"Applicants must be able to accommodate a 4 months on / 2 months off contract schedule" would that mean you would be getting a paycheck for the 2 months off? I have seen postings that give a range of a monthly pay and was wondering if you would get that pay will off? Thanks.

  1. you get paid for the time you work on board.  depending on cruise line, you can accrue vacation time and get that paid to you during your time off but most will just add the vacation pay to regular pay check as you earn it and it is up to you to budget it for the time off the ship.

  2. No, you only get paid while you are working.

  3. No

  4. I don't know for sure, but I'm sure the paychecks would be "structured" so that you'd be paid on a regular basis, such as bi-weekly or semi-monthly. There would be a contract, of course.

Cruise line websites have an icon to click on: employment opportunities. Check it out.

  5. Maybe a percentage of your pay.

I cannot see full pay when you are off.

Some what like a teacher's pay I would assume.

Call them and ask before you make that kind of decision on working, especially if you can not afford to miss any payments.

    :-)
