  1. I worked for Carnival for several years.  It's WONDERFUL, lots of fun ... but very hard work.  Your 'day' is typically 12 hours long.

For finding a job, DO NOT go to those "we'll find you a job (wink, wink)" sites... go DIRECTLY to the website for each cruise line and look for a link for "jobs" or "employment".

  2. Best job to get free time while on port is the duty free shops or the casinos.

Both are usually run by a company that is not the cruise line.

They pay a % (30 ~ 40 % of the income to the cruise line).

    There are 2 major concessions

    www.hardingbros.co.uk

has some 45 ships, interviews over the phone, desperate for staff and in special managers...

    pays 160 pounds a week + comission.

    and Starboard...

which has some 90 ships and is bigger than Hardings, but pays less and its a S****y company to work for.

Since the shops usually dont open while on port, you have free days.

    Have fun

  3. hey, looks like you have the same ambition as me. I really want to travel, but I need to save money first to finance my trip, and find out more about travelling etc.  Now im thinking that a job on a cruise ship will allow me to do that travel, all the while getting paid for it! ive researched cruise ship jobs, and travel based jobs on this site:

    http://www.traveljobsearch.com/

and specific cruise ship jobs on http://www.redgoldfish.co.uk/jobs/33/0/C...

you dont have to have an experience for some of these jobs.

ive got a degree in tourism, and im hoping that will help me get into the industry!

But if its travel you want to do, there are heaps of opportunies, like property, sales etc.

Anyway, any luck with someone that works in a cruise ship, let me know!!

  4. Me too looking for a chance to work in Cruise
