Also is the chance of getting these jobs rare?

21 is normally the age requirement-read my previous posts about conditions etc.Check individual companies websites.

The cruise line websites have a link for "employment" on them.

Probably not easy for an American to get a job on a ship [except for the American Norwegian ship - which is notorious for poor service], because the conditions and pay are not what Americans expect for a job, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
