Cruise? ncl?

im going to be 14. my best friend and i r going on an ncl cruise and i just wanted to know what other teens thought of it? and how late in the night are there things to do?

Hello Brooke, I am not a teenager, however I do have a few teenagers and we have taken them on cruises.  They love them and are driving us up the wall begging that we take them again (Our next cruise with them is planned for September 2008).  So I would say that they think they are a great way to vacation.

There are activities on the ship from morning until late in the evening as well as the Arcade, Pool, Wii and more.

What we have done with our teenagers is gave them each a 5 mile walkie-talkie and let them roam as they wished.  Our daughter found several other teenagers to hang with before the ship even left port on the first day and they were near inseperable for the entire trip.  I had them checking in with us every hour or so and that worked quite well.

When there were not specific activities that they wanted to do they made their own fun and quite often during the day I could find them hanging out in one of the empty night clubs.

The ship has a night club specifically for the teens in an area that adults do not go into (I am not even sure they can just walk into it).

You don't mention which ship you will be on, but if it is the Pearl or the Gem then there is even a bowling alley.

hey im 18 and i just got off the norwegian pearl this morning back from the caribbean.  

Theres a teen program for 13-17 yr olds at a metro center, where you mostly hang out.  They give you a flyer and tell you where to meet and what to do (all free and totally optional).  Theres a fun coupon book for $30 to purchase, you get cool non-alcoholic drinks (mocktails).  All the ncl ships have pools and jacuzzis to just chill out, I met a lot of people my age at the jacuzzis btw.  Other than the big shows at the theater, theres smaller shows every night at the major lounges.  The pearl had a spinnaker lounge for everyone, stayed open till about 1, and there was karaoke, bingo, talent shows, comedy perfomances by 2nd city, guys vs. girls quiz nights, and fun game shows for couples.  All of this is free, you just go in and sit down and watch with ur best friend.

There was an 18+ performance though on the last night.  The clubs dont let in under 21 after 10.
