  1. For Formal night you need a nice outfit, like what you might wear to church or a wedding.  If you have a gown of some sort, then by all means bring it if you want to, but a dress is just fine.

Bring two bathing suits, because you will be in and out of them a lot, most likely.

Bring shorts and casual stuff for during the day.  This can be jeans, whatever.

Bring something a little dressier for night.  T-shirts, jeans, and shorts are not welcome in the dining rooms (although you can go to the buffet in them, if you like), so assume you will have to dress for dinner most of the time (formal night you will dress up as in my suggestions at the top of the page, and the night you leave port they will be more forgiving of things like jeans, especially for folks your age.)

  2. Bring at least 2 formal outfits (and by formal I mean ball gowns and dresses.)  And for the rest, just pack 3 outfits for each day- one beach outfit (bathing suit/sundress), one dinner outfit (pretty shirt w/ skirt/shorts/jeans etc.) and a night outfit!  (black pants, dress, something nice.)  Don't be afraid to overdress.  You will be shocked as to how fancy some of the things ppl wear are!

Don't forget lots of flip flops, sneakers if u plan on hiking, you don't need towels, I would suggest a blow dryer cuz the one in the state room stinks.

Also heres a great site to assist you with your cruise planning:

They have EVERYTHING from packing lists to detailed explanations of what to expect.

    Have fun!!!! Im jealous!!!

  3. I'm also going on a cruise to the Caribbean at the end of August, and I'm going to be a sophomore also! Send me a message to see if we're going on the same cruise!!

For a cruise up to 6 nights there's going to be 1 formal night and for anything more than 7 nights there's going to be 2 formal nights. For the formal nights you can wear something as casual as a sundress or as formal as a cocktail dress. I'm wearing two dresses that I would wear to a homecoming dance at my school, which is like in between a sundress and a cocktail dress. for the other nights, they're going to be called semi-formal and casual, they're the same thing, don't worry about it there's not a difference. You can wear a sundress or just a cute shirt and a skirt or a long shirt with leggings, anything like that. For the rest of the things you need to pack, I reccomened to pack a good amount. I usually go through at least two tops a day. Plan on wearing everything twice, and make sure you have things that you can mix and match. Bring good walking shoes and shoes that you just wear around the pool and the ship. If they're flip flops I reccomend bringing at least two pairs because maybe it's just my luck but one of my pairs always seem to break. I'm going on a 9 day, 8 night cruise so I'm probably going to bring at least 12 tops, and a bunch of bottoms so that I can mix and match. Make sure you bring pjs also, just a big tshirt or something, I always seem to forget to bring that. Make sure you bring at least two bathing suits.

Here's some examples so you can see what I'm talking about

This is a good shirt for at night- you can wear it twice and wear it on a non formal night, you can wear it with a skirt or something like that:

You could also wear a shirt like this for at night:

This is good for at night also:

Basically, nothing really sloppy for dinner, there's no tshirt or shorts allowed, but you don't have to get all crazy.

For the formal nights, these dresses would be totally fine, you don't have to getmore fancy than this:

anything like those are fine, you don't have to get super fancy if don't want to, but there will people who do get very dressed up, and others who aren't so fancy. for dresses, you can wear strapless, halter, spaghetti strap, anything is fine. Again, you don't have to get super fancy, they just want you to look nice. As for shoes, you don't even have to wear heels unless you want to. I always just wear flats and those are totally fine. These are usually what I wear every night:

For during the day, there is no dress code. You can wear whatever you'd like to. If you'd rather not dress up for the formal nights, you could always just eat dinner at the buffet.

I've been on a bunch of cruises so I've noticed what everyone wears. Hope this helps! If you have any more questions feel free to send me a message and again message me to see if we're going on the same cruise!! (:
