  1. Inside cabins are fine when you are absolutely positive that you'll only use it to sleep and put your stuff in.  But getting a nicer room will make you want to stay in there a bit more, but it does affect how much you enjoy your cruise.  Even if you're with a group of people, a nicer cabin makes hanging out a lot more fun, and, trust me, you've got to hang out in the cabins at some point as there's not going to be a planned ship activity for at every waking moment.

As for enjoying the ocean traveling and eating, I think it's just a personal preference.  Some people like to feel pampered on vacation while others prefer to be on land and exploring different places.  There are cruises for every type of traveler.

  2. Inside rooms tend to be small. I think the attraction to cruising is that you unpack once and everything is convenient. Yes, the food is usually terrific, but there is entertainment and other interests depending on the cruise company. And while there is the variety of activities onboard, you are still travelling and visiting ports all over the world.

  3. The cabins are small on an inside room.  There isn't much else but two beds (or a queen), a kind of desk, a TV, and a small bathroom.

As to why it is fun to cruise, well, there is the food.  But there is also a real sense of being away from it all.  There are activities ranging from bingo to trivia to showroom entertainment, and you can spend your days lying by the pool or reading in the library or chasing the latest activity in a lounge or showroom.  There is also the ports of call.  There is no other form of transport that provides a more luxurious (if somewhat slower) method to take you from port to port.  It's not cramped like an aircraft or train.

Cruises allow me to relax more than anything else.  I never sleep better than when I'm on a cruise ship.

  4. Inside cabins are good especially if you are going and doing alot on the ship and all you really spend time in your room is to change and to sleep.

they tend to be on the small size but, still livable for a short time.

  5. Inside rooms are very small.  There is no room to walk around. If you can afford it - get a bigger cabin.
