  1. I work on cruise ships (not in the Spa, but my daughter is in a similar situation as you, so I've done a bit of research). The cruise lines Spa and hairdressing are done by 'Concessions' 2 main companies Stiener and Harding Brothers. Now talking to the people that work on the ships in the Spa etc and comparing I have come to the conclusion that Harding Brothers are the better at loing after thier people. Harding have a web site as do Stiener, so do some of your own research. Hardings also have a training school in Southampton UK. You will need to be 21 or over and be eligeble for an American visa. But do check their web sites as they are full of the sort of info you want and also list the ships each one is operating on. Long days are all part of the job as it is not all a bed of roses, but good luck.

  2. i would contact the cruirse line you would like to work with here is a link and some ino for carnival hope this will help sorry i couldnt tell you more good luck FUN JOBS

  3. I was a salon and spa manager on cruise ships for 5 years with Steiner Transocean, who run most of the spas on cruise ships.

Its a job with great earning potential, great travel potential and you'll make lots of friends from all over the world.  And your earnings are tax free.

Don't be mistaken though, it is incredibly hard work.  The spas are open from 8 in the mornig til 11 at night sometimes and you will mostly work 12 hour days sometimes with 1 hour off for lunch sometimes with 2.  You will get days off in port when you can get off the ship and explore the outside world.  Most managers will give you daily and cruise targets and often give you extra time off as an incentive.

Money is mainly earned on a commission basis so its up to you how much you earn by how hard you are willing to work.  There is a big emphasis on sales of products as well so be prepared for that.

You will be trained in Elemis products and treatments, la Therapie facial products and treatment, Ionithermie anticellulite treatment at the training academy in London.

Usually first contractors start on a massage column which can be very hard work (on a sea day you might do 10 or 12 massages) then you prove yourself by selling products and you'll get upgraded to one of the higher revenue columns.

Life on board for a Steiner (what you'll get called on the ship) is great fun.  Steiners have a rep for being party animals although the company is trying to get away from that image, not sure how successfully!  So also be prepared for the fun side of it.

I had the best time as a Steiner.

    So basically -

Be prepared to work hard and you'll earn lots of cash

You will get time to see the different ports

You'll make loads of new friends from all around the world

You'll be trained in some of the leading beauty and health treatments in the world

as the slogan used to be in my day -

    Steiner its a great experience!

    Go for it.
