  1. Just in case you don't already know, jobs on cruise ships are AWFUL.  Those poor workers are treated like slaves.

    Find something else to do.

  2. I wouldn't work on a cruise ship to save my life. It not going to be what you're thinking. Those people are basically slaves. The reason why most of them work there is because working there better than living in the country they came from. Not because the job is luxurious or anything. Like someone said earlier, find something else to do. You'd be lucky to get paid 1300 a month.

  3. food and accomodation is always paid on cruise ships (at elast reputable ones).  Visas and travelling fees to get to and from your job is always your responsibilty.  They MAY help you get the visa but it's your job to pay for it.  Remember that when looking for one of these jobs, they usually want a long term commitment from you, at least for 6 months.  So you will be stuck on that boat for 6 months.  No vacation (usually) and no hotels, no going to visit home.

  4. When looking for a job on a cruise line remember that the staff work long hours and they have to work hard.  Depending on the job you have wages can, of course, vary.  While on a cruise the line will provide you with accomodation and food however other costs will generally be your own responsibility.

Do not apply to job placement agencies that offer cruise ship ads.  Check with the cruise line websites for job opportunities.  They will either have postings or they will direct you to the agency that hires for them.  Many of the agencies that offer to find you jobs in this industry will simply send you the same infomration you can get for free from the various cruise line websites.

To find a cruise line that services your area simply check locally for cruises.  Generally you can find this information out with a general enquiry to a travel agent or by checking out the internet.  Be aware that cruise lines and their employment standards vary.
