  1. Yes another 47! Generally visa is not necessery,or more corectly is taken care by the cruise line. I am going on a cruise to S:t Petersburg, russia and Royal Carrebian will provide me an visa when on one of theyres shore tours. But always check with your cruise line if they dont privide such information to you. If they dont handle the visa for you you will have to get one from the nearest russian ambassy and that may take severel weeks. If you desided to go on your own I think you need a visa weather or not its provided by the cruise company but always check with em. Johan

  2. No. The cruise ship has a cover all visa for the time you are in Russia. What you will need to do is hand your passport into reception before arriving in St Petersburg for the Russian Authorities to check. You will also need to fill out a landing card for the port customs.

You don't need to worry, it's all thoroughly explained on the ship at the tour meetings.

Its a fantastic place for a visit and the tours are well organised.

  3. they are all correct, no visa required and to be honest, it's not worth going out by yourself anyway... I could as a crew member (seaman's book) but really didn't like. After 2 times I never went out again, except on excursions... and I was always off on both days... it was basically nothing to do but Officer's Bar and a LOT of drinking.

  4. No, you do not need a visa for that.  However, if you want to go off the ship on your own or on an excursion not provided by the ship, you will need a visa.

Be sure to see the Hermitage.  The Amber Room is something you will not forget.
