Cruise ships for hire at 17?

I would like to work on a cruise ship, but i am only 17. I will be 18 in march, so I could wait. But I cant seem to find any information about ships hiring at age 17. If anyone knows anything about this at all PLEASE let me know!

  1. They don't hire at 17.  It's a liability issue.

    They hire at 18, but only for select positions:

    Production Cast member (singer or dancer)

    Salon/Spa employee (these are usually hired by Steiner Leisure UK or another similar company)

    All other positions you need to be at least 21.

    i have always wanted to work on a cruise and when i was your age i applied for every cruise there was. They all said the same thing, "come back when your 21".

    However it really depends on the position you want.

    Dancers they accept early with some cruise lines. Beauticians/spa they usually take on at 18.

    i'm 19 now and work for carnival but i was lucky and had some connections.

    But carnival take on at 20 for some jobs but it really depends on the people.
