Question:

Cruise to Paris?

All of the cruise itineraries I have looked at that include Paris as a port say that it's really stopping Le Havre. That's a couple of hours away from Paris. I was wondering if anyone knows how cruise passengers get to Paris and how much does it cost?

  1. I don't know that the cost is but Europe has one of the best train systems in the world.  The trains are fast, comfortable, clean, on time and easy to get around in.

  2. WE included Paris in our cruise to the Baltic out of Dover, England.  We flew to London and then went downtown and caught the train to Paris and spent two nights.  Then took the train back to London, stayed a night and then took the train to Dover, with all of our luggage.

The train is fast, it runs between London and Paris through the Chunnel about every hour all day and the fare was very reasonable, like maybe $140 R/T per person.  The train takes about 3 hours.  I did my booking online at the Eurorail web site:  http://www.raileurope.com/us/rail/fares_...

You can check the dates, times and fares on the site and pick what's best for you.  When you reserve they will send your tickets express mail.

  3. Cruise ship normally sponsors tours to Paris, or you can try it on your own if you're experienced or familiar enough to get there on you own.

Normaly, the cruise tour will arrange tickets and tour guides.
