Cruise to alaska tomorrow??

i have noooo idea what to pack... who has actually been on a cruise to alaska around this time of year? and how warm is it? and what do i pack!

Hi, I hope I caught you in time.  It will be rainy in Ketchikan and Juneau, so bring a rain jacket and umbrella.  It will be mildly cool to downright hot in Skagway and Sitka, so wear layers so you can take something off if it gets to hot and put something on if it gets too cold.  Have a great time.  Bon voyage!

Hi, I have been there on 20 cruises thats 140 days & it rain twice for a total of 6 hours. Weather will be around 70 daytime & around45 at night. I always just took a lite weight jacket & was comfortable. Depends on dress code for ship & if they have a buffet where jeans are fine. Pack what you usually wear.

I have been to Alaska twice; once on a cruise in May and then again for two weeks business in June/July.  

The Alaska cruise season is from May to Sept.  The weather is generally warmer in June, July and Aug, but it can also be pleasant in May and Sept. When we cruised a few years ago in May it was shirt sleeve weather (70's) in Anchorage and Fairbanks. The odd thing was, it was cooler further south in Juneau and Skagway, like in the high 60's,  than it was up north. It was and likely will be rainy and cloudy in Ketchkan, and Juneau.

It will be cold, like coat, hat and gloves weather, when you get close to the Glaciers.  When you pack, think layering of your clothes. A couple long sleeve shirts/tops, a sweater or sweatshirt, a light jacket, maybe with a hood.

The dress on ship is casual all day until 6:00PM.  So take swim wear for the pool and hot tub, shorts and/or jeans for days, sneakers or other good walking shoes, sun glasses and sun screen, lotions,  a book if you are a reader, your music player, sneakers and clothes to workout in if you like to use the gym, your camera, and other personal toiletries.  

After 6:00 PM they request that you wear "sports casual" attire.  That's attire that you would expect a person to wear in a business office, shirt with a collar, slacks, skirt, blouse, etc.  (no jacket or tie required for men) You can still wear shorts and swim wear in the pools and spas but not in public areas like dining rooms and restaurants, show rooms, bars, casino, etc.  

7-day cruises normally have two formal nights when you can wear your best stuff and get pictures taken, and maybe meet the ship’s Captain.  The formal nights are REQUESTED not required attire.  But most people do dress up in a tux for men and a long dress (any color) for women.  Some men just wear a suit and tie and some women wear a nice dress but not a gown.  You will not be denied access to the dining room or anything else if you choose not to dress up.  (we usually take off the formal stuff after dinner and pictures anyway)

Weather will be in the 60's or 70's.  Plan for RAIN.  It rains alot in Alaska - on and off all day.   It will be cooler at night.

I can't believe your not packed!   I'm usually packed 2 weeks before we leave for a cruise!  LOL!

It will be cool and probably at least misty.  You will want to pack rain slicker and a sweater and light jacket.

Why have you not been watching the weather on-line in the various ports of Alaska you will be visiting?

I bet that you have not read anything about where you will be visiting, either.  You probably will not be getting anything out of this trip.
