Question:

Cruise to the Greek Isles...?

I am torn between three (maybe four) cruiselines to cruise the Greek Isles, with a stop into Athens and Istanbul for next year. It comes down to Regent, Crystal, Oceania or Silversea. I didn't choose Windstar and Seaborne because i have cruised with them recently and the vessels are either too small or too old. Anyone have any tips/experience with this? Also, should I do a pre/post cruise with the cruiseline? What about a back-to-back cruise? I just want a nice cruise for my family.

  1. Honestly, out of the 4 cruiselines you mentioned, I'd have to say that Crystal is the most luxurious.  It is quite pricey but then again, this cruise line caters to the more affluent traveler.  Oceania has small ships and while nice, they do not compare to Crystal.  I'm not sure what your estimated budget is, but be prepared to pay a pretty penny for an worthwhile experience.  If you are considering a more laid-back family friendly cruise (ie meaning lots of activities for children) I would have to recommend Royal carribbean.  They cater to people of all ages, and with their new mega-ships there is fun for the whole family.

A pre and post package is great, if you have the time and money, but it is quite a bit of traveling and you may be exhausted at the end of the trip.

You can look on cruisecritic.com and read other cruisers experiences.

    Bon Voyage!!!
