  1. That is peak hurricane season and you may also get rain.  However, you don't need to worry about safety.  The cruise lines use sophisticated weather info to avoid storms.  You may miss a particular port due to weather.  But you may get some free days at sea!  That happened to us one September - we cruised off the coast of Cuba for two days and we wouldn't even have known there was a hurricane.  [Well, not until we finally came into Ft Lauderdale - that was a bit bumpy!!]

You should make sure you have sea-sick medicine [benadryl or meclazine etc] if you think you'll be vulnerable to that, although the ship will have meds if you prove to need them and don't have them [will cost you, though].

You might want to take some type of guidebook with you, in case your ports get changed, so you'll know what you would want to do on the islands you are changed to.

    Don't worry - you'll be fine!

  2. The reason for cheaper rates for the Caribbean at this time is because of the chance of some bad weather. Now it is hurricane season, but that doesn't mean it will rain a lot and when it does rain it usually is for a very short time. I've also been to Hawaii during hurricane season and never had a problem. It does mean that the ship may have to divert to a different island if any bad weather shows up on the radar, so check the weather right before you leave and you will know what to expect. Don't worry about the ship as they know how to handle everything and will just go elsewhere if a hurricane or really bad weather is approaching.

  3. I have cruised a few times in peak hurricaine season and , cross my fingers, never encountered terrible weather...last year we did encounter rain on our last sea day but that was acceptable, the pther days were wonderful. its always a c**p shoot when you travel that time of the year but the boats do try to avoid the worst of it. I traveled in December and had the worse weather i have ever had so its  all in the luck of the draw
