Which place would you most want to get off the cruise ship for? Why? Which place has the nicest water? Which place in your opinion is the nicest? Thank You Very Much!

  1. Nassau is good like for shopping and things like going to the straw market, but St. Thomas is the best for water in my opinion, it is very clear, and St. Thomas also has good shopping. San Juan is beautiful also if you go to the right places, I went on a tour of the rain forest there, it had beautiful views. I hope this helps a little.

  2. I can't help you with your destinations, but on your ship be sure to include at least one trip to the spa, and they may sound corny, but the dancing lessons are really fun (i'm single and I still did them on my cruise).  Also, eat as much as you can from the buffet....yummy food, and it is different each night.  Have a ball, I went to Europe on my cruise, and sailed for 11 days, was really neat waking up in a different country each morning. =)

  3. My very favorite is St.Thomas--best shopping, best water.  As far as excursions, it all depends what type of things you like.  Get a list of the excursions before you get on the cruise so that you know the prices and can read all about it.  Some people like heavy partying, some like water sports, some like siteseeing.  It all depends on your favorite activities.  Don't just stay on the ship, make sure you at least get off to at least view the island.  Most ports have something to do or see right as you get off the ship.   They have a time to go to the auditorium to review excursions--well worth it to listen to this--they tell you where the best buys are and also sometimes give you discount coupons, maps, etc.  I went to one and they had a raffle for a genuine diamond bracelet and I won it.  Boy, was I happy I went to that!  Also book your excursion as soon as you get on board because they book up quick.  My second cruise I picked what I wanted to go on--but waited til that day to book it, and they were all booked for the ones I wanted.  My third cruise I learned better and booked right away and got what I wanted.  That is the only way I do it now.   Dont forget your camera.  You will be blown away with the beauty.  In the Bahamas you may want to go to the resorts/casinos--they have the most beautiful areas.

  4. Seeing as you're going to Labadee, I'm guessing this is a Royal Caribbean cruise?

I don't remember the exact name of the port at St. Thomas, but the one here is probably the one I went to. San Juan and Nassau I've been to as well; the only one out is Labadee.

As far as shopping goes, I think either St. Thomas or Puerto Rico probably has the best. I don't much like the city part of Nassau, but that's just me. Plus it was really hot that day, and I didn't want to do anything but sit in the pool or someplace with shade. There are some pretty neat shore excursions at each destination, though, so you'll want to look into those as well.

As far as nicest waters, well... For looking at, I'd say it's a tie between Nassau and St. Thomas, but for swimming I'd go for St. Thomas. Plus, at St. Thomas, there's usually an excursion that takes you over to nearby St. John's, and there's a tour that takes you to Trunk Bay beach, which is absolutely amazing. White sand beach, and waters so clear you can see down twenty or thirty feet. There are beaches like that on St. Thomas, though, if you don't want to take the boat trip out.

Puerto Rico we only saw some of the city, and then we went to the Bacardi rum factory (for my dad...). It's a nice place, but if you're going for tropical, wait until St. Thomas.

Mind, you can get off the ship at any port and walk around or take a taxi on your own. But if there's something you want to do, like a horseback ride (Puerto Rico -- I remember wistfully watching that group head off from the port), then you need to sign up for it in advance.

As far as the nicest overall, I'd have to say St. Thomas. If you're still in port, try to watch the sunset over the mountains. It's so pretty!

  5. Definately go to St Thomas and if you have time take the ferry to St John and go to Trunk Bay - its one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean
