My family and I want to go on a cruise next month and we can't go after the last week of Aug. cuz my school starts in Sept. Is hurricane season really dangerous if your going to the bahamas from Port Canaveral, FL? what are the chances of that happening? (about, in percent) and is there a link for cheap transportation between the closest airport and Port Canaveral? i also was wondering how much will the whole trip cost per person, including airfare from NY to FL, the transportation, and money spent on the cruise and shore? is there a cruise leaving from NY to the Bahamas before August 31st? thanks. i know its a lot u can answer as much as u can!!! 1. Hurricanes are followed from the time they form off the coast of Africa . They move forward slowly . Ships can very easily steer around them .

I don't know the schedules from New York . I live in South Florida .

We have to sit through whatever hits . A ship can easily  keep out of the way .

  2. Hey.  I am going on a cruise from Florida to the caribbean.  I am going on a Royal Caribbean cruise.  I am also from New York.  Some of us are flying and some of us are driving.  The cruise is a 7 days cruise and it is about $1,300 per person.  If your flying, its going to be about $230 to $300 a person.  It depends when your going.  I have been on many cruises and so far, there weren't any hurricanes and i hope that there isn't going to be one when I go on my cruise.  There are cabs and i think that there might be shuttles that can take you to the port.  Shore excursions are expensive too.  Some could go up to $100 or more per person.  But most excursions are $50-$80.  Most food is free on the ship.  You would also have to pay for tip for cooks, stewards etc.  You just want to go to the caribbean? For how many days?

There are some cheaper cruises just to the Bahamas.  There are some for $300.  But its a short cruise.  I think that if this is your first cruise, you should go on a shorter one.

Here is a 3 night,4 day cruise from port canaveral for the Bahamas and Cococay (cruiseline private island) (scroll down to see the prices):

4 night, 5 day from port canaveral to bahamas and cococay:

I went on this cruise a few years ago.  It leaves from New York and goes to the Bahamas and florida but it departs in August 31st:

There are also disney cruises that you can go on but its a little more expensive:

And there is another 4 night, 5 day cruise that goes to 3 islands in the Bahamas:

I also found a cruise that goes to the caribbean.  It is a exotic eastern caribbean cruise buts its a little more expensive because it departs from New York.  But you will save on airfare.  Its a 8 night, 9 day cruise.  It goes to San Juan, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, and Grand Turk.

Here is another cruise.  It goes to Puerto Rico, Tortola, and Dominican Republic.  I like this cruise better than the one before because i like NCL better than carnival:

This cruise departs from New Jersey:

I went on this cruise last year and it was really great.  It goes to 4 islands:

    Have fun=]

  3. Next month?  It may be a bit late to get everything done.  For one thing flights may be impossible to get at this short notice.  Also cruise lines need information on each passenger traveling so they can be checked out.

Also you will need travel documents to board the plane and ship.

I would suggest that you contact a LOCAL travel agent they will be able to get you the best rates and information on the cruises available and if it is possible on this short of notice.

I hope you can, because cruises are a lot of fun.

  4. Try looking here. It’s an excellent site with some wonderful options for you. You won't regret opening it. It will definitely help you. Have a look.
