  1. disneycruise.disney.go.com

    wouldbe my first choice.

    cruiseclues.com

  2. on the first cruise , you will LOVE any of them

disney cruise  is more for familes /lots of kids

carnival has stuff to do for kids / but nothing like disney where it is designed for kids

    princess  is great food

    celebrity is great food

    Royal carribean is also great

i would pick the newest of the ships / they are larger and better

there are tons of things to do on all of them .  most days you spend in the carribean ports .  3 or 4 days of the 7 days you cruise.  you do not need to buy offshore packages for activities to do in the ports.  they charge too much .  you can walk off ship and get cheap cab fares on your own.  don't pay cruise to be middle men for this.   all islands are easy to navigate EXCEPT jamaica .   this one has a lot of crime / not good  to be away from a group of tourists together

there is a website   cruisecritic.com   it's online forum of people that cruise a lot .  they have lots of opinions / advice for first time cruisers ..   people rate / do review / explain what they liked and didn't like about the ships / itinerarys .   good place to research

  3. I've been on Royal Caribbean quite a few times, they are rated the best and I believe they are, they also have the biggest ship as of right now.

I'm sure there are other good ones too but let me warn you, never, never, never go on carnival cruise lines.

  4. I have been on almost all of the cruise lines that sail in the Caribbean. My choices would be Windstar and Star Clipper - both of which are sailing ships. But if you are looking for lots of nightlife then Holland America, Royal Caribbean and Princess might be your cup of tea.

If you wish to speak with me about this I would be happy to answer any more questions you may have.

  5. I did a very nice cruise from Puerto Rico to St. Thomas, Sta Lucia, Barbados, with Royal Caraibiën for 7 nights. The ship is realy nice. Take a balcony room.

  6. Seabourn or Silverseas are  CONSISTENTLY rated the finest in the world. However this doesn't mean they will be the best cruise for you !

Choose the above if you want 5 star luxury. If you want 4 star then go for Royal Caribbean or Princess

  7. I have been on 14 cruises and I would rate the cruise lines as follows...

Best for on board activities Royal Caribbean

Best for combination of activities and food Princess

Best for older cruisers who are looking for relaxation and sophisticated dining Celebrity

Best for all out partying Carnival

  8. Most veteran cruisers are not as brand loyal as you think they would be. I pick the cruise according to the best deal I can get for the itinerary I want , when I can go on vacation.  Try vacationstogo. Click on find a bargain and put in some of your top priorities. You can narrow it down from there. I also like to pick a ship that has a 4.5 star rating or better. Have fun.

  9. I have been on 3, and planning the 4th for this spring. Always have done Carnival so obviously I think they are the best since I haven't considered other lines.   While some lines have things like rock climbing, skating, etc. on board the price for these are usually high so if you have to fly a distance it can be expensive.  For the cost, I think Carnival has the best food, entertainment, activities and port destinations for the buck.

  10. I'd suggest you try Carnival or Royal Caribbean.  I'd also look for a cruise that doesn't have a lot of days at sea because you'll get plenty of time on board ship at night.  Opt for the late seating for dinner too, so you won't have to leave an island at say 3 p.m. to be ready for dinner at 5.  Get a cabin with a window and don't worry about being at the bottom of the ship, just go the middle of the ship so it doesn't rock so much.  You'll  have a blast no matter what cruise line you go on, I'm sure of it.  although I think Disney is for little kids.  so keep that in mind and Carnival is good for older teens.  RC is for all.  Try this site to compare prices.  iBtraveling.com  I usually find something good there.  Wish you my best!  Oh, and buy your snorkel gear here so you don't have to rent and that could be expensive.  It's the best thing going at the beach, snorkeling.

  11. I've been on 2 cruises and I liked the Princess Cruise the best. It was a little more "adult." Although, you are with your family and Carnival Cruises are a blast also!
