  1. There is a good mix of families, young folks and seniors on both the RC and Carnival.

RC is more pricey than Carnival.

The bigger the ship, the more there is to do and you have a smoother ride.  My favorite is the Conquest class ship on Carnival.  She is 110-ton.  Much better than the smaller 70 ton Ecstasy.

Go to www.vacationstogo.com to compare a good number of cruise lines.  They have the info on the ships, including year built and/or refurbed.

You can search by departure port as well.

  2. Either one would be great for what you're looking for.  Both lines have a good reputation.  Choosing a cruise can be difficult and a good travel agent can make it easier for you (and may be able to get you a better fare).  Using a travel agent shouldn't cost you anything and may make the planning easier for you.  Check on the cruiseline's website for a travel agent near you!

  3. Royal is a lot better than Carnival.

If you are very rich go Silver Seas or Crystal cruises.

Otherwise go Royal or Celebrity, both are good and similar (Royal owns both), Celebrity caters for a younger crow (about your age).

    Carnival stinks.

The service will be good at any ship, provided you tip. Tip is pre-paid but they always expect a little extra.

When you get to your cabin, tip your steward 20bucks. It works.

I worked on ships 10 years, not on tipping positions, but I know these guys, they live on tips. The salary is something ridiculous like 200USD/month, all the rest are tips.

  4. If you guys want something formal and romantic go to celebrity X. Theres no kids there. There aint nothing romantic about little kids running around.

  5. I live in Florida so we always take Caribbean cruises.  I like Carnival.  They are cheaper, and I am paying for 4 people.

And I have not had any bad experiences with them.

Be careful  They are habit forming.  One is never enough.

I am going on the Carnival Glory in September for 7 nights, and I got the whole trip for 4 people with fees for under $1400.  This is the advantage of booking early and past guest discounts.  I always book through Carnival directly.  We have a PVP there who really looks out for us.  He has always gotten a better price or room upgrade, even after we have booked.  We don't even find out about it until after he has done it.  He is great.

  6. Royal Carribean, there boats have more things to do especially when at sea.  I went on Carnival and it was boring and mostly seniours on the boat and i was 19 at the time i took that cruise.

  7. You can compare yourself at below link.

  8. My husband and I went on the Carnival Glory when we graduated from college.  I am 23 and he is 26.  We had a wonderful time.  There were other couples and there was always something to do.  For us it was a lot closer to get to the Glory because it leaves from Port Canaveral.  It was a 7 day cruise.  We had so much fun we have talked all of our family into going for Christmas this year.  We are sailing on the same ship but going to different destinations.  We are super excited.

Carnival is more reasonably priced and it is has everything that you would want.  I would book early.  That way if they run a sale, you get it on the cheaper price.  Their travel agents are super easy to deal with and they are very nice.  My agent even calls me when there are specials on our sailing.  Check out their web site and have an agent call you.

  9. I haev gone on 3 carnival cruises and they where all great. There is a variety of ages. There are kids, teens, adults, and old people. The food is really good. They have good entertainment. And when the people come and clean your room, they fold your bath towels in to animals and leave you chocolate. Everything is super clean too. I reccomend the Elation!

  10. Don't do carnival. Their ships are outdated, the food is horrible, and they lack activities. Royal Caribbean has newer ships and a lot of activities.

  11. if you are looking for something romantic and memorable go Cunard.

  12. I have to cast my vote for Carnival. I really don't know where some folks are at in their cruising experience...but if you are just a normal, hard working, common type of person...you will not be disappointed. We are planning our 5th cruise with Carnival, and the food, service, ports and actvities have been great every time!! You get a whole lot for your dollar. We are planning to go to Orlando and catch Carnival Glory  Dec 8th..7 days, 3 stops for about $500.00 per person. Don't think RC can beat that...as for the rest of it...it really is what you make of it...HAVE FUN!!!!
