Crusaders’ coach Iestyn Harris ready to join Wigan Warriors  in forthcoming season
Iestyn Harris joined in as Crusaders’ coach in 2010 and is ready to join the Wigan Warriors as their assistant coach from 2012 onwards. He succeeded Brian Noble of Crusaders in 2010 and served his term for two complete years.
The Crisis-hit Crusaders had pulled themselves out of the Engage Super League licensing process for the next three years of Super League games. With this latest happening within the franchise, there is an out flux of players and coaching staff, in search
of future employers.
As the Crusaders pulled themselves out of the Super League equation, the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats bagged their unexpected Super League licence until 2015. Currently, they are on a hiring spree which includes many recruits from Crusaders.
There were a lot of rumours floating around in terms of the future link-ups of Haris. The widespread word which was around amassing hype regarding Haris’ future employers was confusing everyone. It was still not clear for some time whether Haris will join
the Wigans, Wildcats, Castleford Tigers or the Hull KR.
However, about Harris’ joining in as Wigan’s coach has not been yet disclosed but sources have confirmed that it is nonetheless a “done deal”.
While speaking about his players Haris added about his Wales squad and stated, “We are going to be pretty strong. We are looking around for players who are Welsh-qualified and that has not just been done this year, it is an on-going process. There are lots
of players in the NRL (Australia’s National Rugby League) who are Welsh-qualified, Irish-qualified and Scottish-qualified. If they have the qualities to play international rugby, are qualified and want to play for Wales, then you would be foolish to overlook
them.”
He also mentioned that this process was already ongoing and it has not started recently. It does not mean that there is a quality deficit within the Wales’ squad. He further went on explaining this by saying that the only reason for finding the Welsh-qualified
players is to make those represent Wales, who are coming  through the same decent.
