Crusaders to play another Super Rugby match at Timaru in June
The Crusaders will play their second match at Timaru on 11th June against in the ongoing Super Rugby season against the Blues.
The chief executive of Crusaders Hamish Riach announced today morning that his team was ready to play in the heart of Canterbury in the mid of June. The Crusaders played their first match at Timaru against the Bulls on 9th April which they won 27-0.
Earlier on, the fixture remained in danger as the team management of the Blues could not decide it during their meeting. The Crusaders waited the Blues to make a decision of coming there as they are facing huge problems regarding the availability of venues.
The Crusaders were left nomads after the devastating earthquake of 22nd February. The fatal tremor turned turtle the Christchurch city and so was the case with AMI stadium situated in the mid of city.
The AMI stadium in Christchurch was declared unfit to host any rugby contest after the shake. It was scheduled to host five Super Rugby clashes as home matches for the local derby Crusaders, but they were left disappointed with IRB’s decision.
The Crusaders have played their home matches in various grounds with couple of in Nelson and one in Twickenham, London. They will play their next game in Nelson against the Highlanders on 23rd April.
They are excited with the news of playing another game at the Timaru as previous match produced a wonderful victory for them.

The Crusaders are having good-days despite being homeless. They are currently placed on top of the point’s table among the other New Zealand derbies and second on overall standings in the Super Rugby championship.
They produced six victories after eight outings and shared one point each with the Hurricanes as they withdrew from the contest after the quake.
