CryTek working on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Crysis 1, Minecraft reaches 10 million users
It seems that CryTek are not very skilled at keeping things under wraps, though it could just be a case of the gaming population being exceedingly nosey, as news broke out that Crysis 1 will be making its way onto current High Definition video game consoles.
The latest trend of confirming whether or not a game will be coming out is done by checking the listings on the ratings boards in different regions. Crysis 1 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 was seen listed on the Korean ratings board earlier on in the
week.
Now however, a second listing on the Entertainment Software Ratings Board, also known more commonly as ESRB, site, confirmed the title will be making its way on to consoles.
Crysis 2 was released on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and on Personal Computers, and was well received by critics for its awe inspiring visuals and engulfing atmosphere, though it did receive criticism for being ‘like every other first person shooter’. The
latter was a slightly harsh assessment as the suit mechanics did add a welcome dimension to the game.
Its predecessor, Crysis, was a PC exclusive title and was widely regarded as the best looking game of its time, by some margin. It was however, offset by the amount of fans complaining at the hardware and software requirements needed to run the game. In
short, it was great to look at, but cost a majority of the gaming population a fair chunk of their wallet if they wanted to play it.
All that seems to be ancient history however, as the game is set to hit consoles, which will not have the problems PC users had, though there is still no official release date from CryTek.

Moving on from a game which raised the bar for graphics in a game, to another game that could not care less about how it looked.
Minecraft, the free to play online game, has reached the 10 million registered user mark. According to the game’s website, Minecraft.net, the total number of users on the site is said to be 10,003,717.
Impressive figures for a game that looks like it belongs in the days of Street Fighter 2, however the level of freedom and creativity which the game provides players means that it has become a worldwide phenomenon.
The game is still in its beta version, yet already has sold over 2,500,000 million units. So one can only expect what things will be like when the game eventually releases.
