I am a actress but only a kid. I need to learn how to fake cry so i can be in more TV shows and movies. Note: I will not think of sad moments, or dieing puppies like some people had said before. Somthing that would not make me laugh. If you can give me orders, or a link besides ehow, i already seen that. Also, i need to cry on the spot, i dont have time to open my eyes or stare at a light

  1. ok if you are an actress then you know that you are supposed to BE the character completely right???? well then just be your character and experience the emotions at the same time she is feeling the emotions!! maybe your character is trying to hold back tears so her eyes are really watery and her face is tense trying to keep the tears in or maybe she is shaking uncontrolably with tears!! just be the character acting is reacting!! if you dont already know this you cant really call yourself an actress sorry

hope i helped a little if you even understand what im saying!!

  2. As an "Actress" currently, KID or not, has the issue never presented itself before? Have you NEVER been coached to cry?

This will probably hurt my tongue as I'll have to BITE it while I answer, but "MORE TV shows and Movies", suggest you have been involved, and what possible answers might you lack, already being in the craft???

Certainly FILM defines, CUT, MAKEUP, ACTION, and no one carries around an Onion in a pocket, nor does everyone think of dead Puppies. What bothers me however, and likely due to your immaturity, is that you would laugh to think of a dead puppy.

Beyond that only your DIRECTOR can "ORDER" you, and/or your parents perhaps, and hopefully they have lives that don't involve sitting behind a camerman.

Then it's bothersome that you HAVE to CRY on "the spot" and yet don't have time to engage in the process. "Crying" is a process, and unless you happen to sustain some injury perhaps that immediately brings tears to ones eyes, it is an EMOTIONAL reaction to something.

It's called "ACTING" for a very specific reason, and even one of the best at Crying on Film,,,in my opinion,,,Demi Moore, has to DRAW the emotion that creates the tears, from somewhere.

If no one has already COACHED you, then perhaps it's time someone did. I'd be hard pressed to believe a Director would put anyone in front of a camera, Child or Adult, in a scene that wasn't explained ahead of time, and in the context of the scene the Actor was required to Cry, without knowing whether or not that Actor could.

Even a spritz of Artificial Tears works, as does BUILDING the Crying, by body language, facial expressions, rubbing ones eyes, etc.
