CryTek, the studio behind the Crysis series has released a load of stunning screen shots for its upcoming game, Warface.
There are a number of ways publishers and developers alike build up hype for their games and an industry standard is releasing a few screen shots of what the game is looking like.
Screen shots work in a number of ways because not only do they show off the graphics of the game yet they give gamers just a slice of what they can expect and lets their imagination run wild with what the title will be capable of come its release.
After all there is an age old adage that goes, ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’.
The screens are for CryTek’s latest offering, Warface, which is sure to excite a large number of gamers as it is a free-to-play online title. Sticking to CryTek’s specialities the game is in the first-person shooter genre, the same as the first two Crysis games.
CryTek was on hand to comment on the PC exclusive title where they mentioned that the game would be, “full of dramatic multiplayer co-op missions” as well as competitive online matches as well.
Cevat Yerli, the CEO of CryTek also added his bit for the game’s promotion when he said, “With Warface we aim to become the next-gen of free-to-play shooters that are en par with traditional AAA games in terms of quality.”
Judging by the screen shots it would be difficult to doubt that in terms of graphics at the very least.
He continued, “We have the team and technology to make it happen and are starting with a strong partner in Asia to ensure we gain experience with the free to play business model. It’s the next logical step for us to bring this new IP to a global audience and thus to our worldwide community.”
Warface seems to be CryTek’s response to EA’s Battlefield Heroes and World of Tanks as well as the upcoming Ghost Recon free-to-play game by Ubisoft.
As for the gamer, well he or she cannot complain at the increase in choice of quality free-to-play online games
