Crysis 3 plot details emerge and retailer specific pre-order bonuses announced
EA has used the leak of their upcoming game to their advantage and used the attention to announce Crysis 3 in full force.
This is a continuation of the first part of the article.
When it comes to retailer specific pre-order bonuses there are three packs on offer. The first of which is the Stalker pack, which includes all the content that is present in the Hunter Edition and unlocks the semi-automatic Jackal shotgun, complete with silencer and two in-game dog tags.
Next up is the Predator Pack which includes the Hunter Edition and unlocks the Feline submachine gun.
Lastly, is the Overkill Pack, which along with the Hunter Edition also unlocks the 500 rounds a second firing Typhoon, along with two overkill in-game dog tags.
The Overkill Pack sounds like our personal favourite at this point, yet EA as shared plenty in the way of single-player campaign details and the storyline and premise of the third instalment of the visually stunning series.
According the game’s developer, New York City has been enclosed in a giant Nanodome by the Cell Corporation and New York City has turned into a real urban jungle in the process.
“The New York City Liberty Dome is a veritable urban rainforest teeming with overgrown trees, dense swamplands and raging rivers. Within the Liberty Dome, seven distinct and treacherous environments become known as the Seven Wonders.”
Players can expect to use the dense jungle to their advantage as the statement continued, “This dangerous new world demands advanced weapons and tactics. Prophet will utilize a lethal composite bow, an enhanced Nanosuit and devastating alien tech to become the deadliest hunter on the planet.”
Apparently the game’s protagonist, Prophet, returns to New York City to find out why the Cell Corporation built the Nanodomes. EA confirm that the domes are in place for a more sinister purpose than the general public have been told and “In reality, the Nanodomes are CELL’s covert attempt at a land and technology grab in their quest for global domination.”
It sounds interesting but with only a handful of screenshots to look at, we’ll reserve our judgement till we get a trailer or our hands on some gameplay.
