CryTek has announced that they will be revealing “the best of that kind of that kind of project we’ve ever done” in April.
When CryTek released Crysis all the way back in 2007, it raised the benchmark and expectations of gamers in terms of visuals and graphics. Many had to upgrade their PCs in order to run the game on optimal settings and the Crysis became known for one thing:
graphics.
Fast forward a few years later and Crysis 2 brought the visually stunning series to consoles as well, and on a whole received a positive response from anyone who tried the game out.
Allowing players the freedom to choose how they want to play; either with stealth or engaging in huge fire-fights against the numerous, and rather smart, enemy A.I., the game attempted to set itself apart from the rest of the first-person shooters out there
in the market.
CryTek, the developer of the two games, has now announced that it is set to reveal a new game next month.
Nick Button-Brown, CryTek’s General Manager, explained that the studio enjoyed trying out different game genres as long as they held their interest, “A big part of our business is big budget console and PC games. We are doing all these other things, but
they’re on top of that and we’re doing them because they’re interesting.”
Stressing on the studio’s emphasis on quality, Mr. Button-Brown highlighted two of their upcoming games and teased a third, “You know about Homefront, you know about Ryse. We are working on another project (as well).”
Elaborating on the latter, he said, “The other project looks absolutely fantastic – I mean, genuinely the best of that kind of project we’ve ever done.” Before continuing his praise for the game’s visuals and team morale, “It looks spectacular, the team
are doing really, really well and it’s just really nice to see the team really enthusiastic about what they’re doing.”
The way the title has been teased means that it could be anything from a downloadable title on Steam, the PlayStation Network or Xbox LIVE, or even a game for the iOS or Android devices.
All we know for certain is that we will find out for sure next month.
