Hi, i know a..lot about pc specs and etc... and coding and all but i never played crysis after ps3 and xbox 360 came out i stopped PC gaming and kinda lost track of the graphic card specs and was wondering is the ATI Radeon 3100 on the Satellite M305D-S4829 good enough for crysis? If the pc was coming with Nvidia 7-880 i would know. but Since ATI only states they made HD 3100 and not 3100 i can't get the good specs and the 256MB-1519MB of shared video memory part sounds fake. B/c Toshiba will not allow you to over clock it to 1519mb and keep 2gb ram, can anyone catch me up on ATI's and the Toshiba Satellite M305D-S4829's 3100 Specs?

Thank You.

  1. well, judging by the videocard, you should be able to play at least on low settings and resolution. on a second note, a graphics card's capability and performance does not most depend on how much memory it has, but rather the speed of the memory (mhz) and the gpu, which depending on the manufacturer will vary.

also, the 256-1519mb of shared memory is normal, as the video card on your laptop takes up some of your 2gb of ram if necessary, and since you have 2gb, 1500mb is reasonable and normal.

if you want to play video games, my suggestion would be for you to get a desktop as they are highly upgradable (every single part can be upgraded or replaced cheaply depending on which part it is). You can build a fast gaming computer for around 1000 USD, which compared to similar computers from manufacturers such as HP or Dell, or Alienware, is very cheap.

  2. It's very unlikely to run well enough to play (the Radeon 3100 doesn't seem to be a particularly fast chip and is integrated (i.e. it steals from your system RAM)).
