Does crystal counter get rid of ancient city. I'm aware that if you have a crystal beast that ancient city cannot be destroyed but the description of counter is "send all cards in your spell and trap zone" does city protect itsef or no?

  1. ancient city will be gone if you activate counter. it only protects itself from being "destroyed" but counter says to send all s/t on your field to the graveyard (which is not considered destroying). this is the same for abundance. if you activate abundance, all cards on the field are "sent to the graveyard" (so ancient city also gone because abundance sent it to the graveyard, not destroy it).

  2. If all cards in your spell and trap card zone are gone, rainbow city doesn't have the number of cards to activate it's protection effect and therefore is destroyed.

  3. Well it depends if you only have one CB in your spell and trap card zone to use Ancient city's first effect.

  4. Crystal Counter says "Send all cards in your Spell/Trap card zone...". Ancient City - Rainbow Ruins will not be sent to the graveyard because it is not in the Spell/Trap zone, it is a Field Spell card and has its own zone.

If it were in the Spell/Trap zone, it WOULD be sent to the graveyard, even if you had a Crystal Beast in there at the time of activation, because it says "Send" and Ancient City only protects against being "destroyed".

However, if a card such as "Harpies Feather Duster" were activated, destroying all Spell and Trap cards on your side of the field, Ancient City would survive because you still have a Crystal Beast in your S/T zone at the time of activation.
