How can I have a map on my website that changes colour when you mouse over a county, and allows selection of countrys

Use MapEdit and set up your links for each county and code the mouseover for each county link with a different background color .

There's a really nice tutorial on HTMLgoodies.com about doing something like this with image maps:

You can try adapting this idea to an image of a map. Though, depending on how many selections you have (for example all 50 states in the US) it may be better for load time if you created something like this in Flash...

In flash, each state (in my example) could be a button with a mouseover effect to change the color of the state and a clicktag event to direct them to a specified location upon clicking it. I'm rubbish with Actionscript though, so I apologize if my terminology is off for Flash. hehe
