My parents (citizens) applied for my sister (married and over 21) using the I130 form. The applied in March 2002 and recieved a reciept letter from the immig in April 02. Since then haven't recieved anything from them. People who have done this petition say we should have recieved another "confirmation" letter....others say we will just recieve the visa dates when the time comes. I call immigration office, but they are no help at all. The current dates on the visa bulliten is June 2000. Could anyone tell me what should I be looking at in this bulliten. I am just worried that could it be that I am supposed to get something sooner from them...that I might not have. Thank you....and I really appreciate your help.

  1. California Service Center (CSC) is processing I-130 application filed on or before April 2001 and Vermont Service Center (VSC) is processing much faster on the application filed on or before June 4, 2006.

So if your parents sent the petition to CSC, you still have to wait. If your parents sent to VSC, your parents should have gotten either approval or denial decisions a while ago.

Upon the approval decision, your sister will get approval notice with Priority Date (PD). When PD is current according to Visa Bulletin, she can file I-485, the real green card application. Good luck!
