Ctrl+h gives you the history for web pages. How to know which files were accesses or opened on my computer.?

Is it possible in windows vista or xp to check which files or folders were accessed or modified in the last few weeks.

  1. In the history list just click  the calendar icon, it will give you the pages visited, then click the page and it will give everything looked at on the page.


  2. Yes you can check which files/folders were modified / accessed over any time period you want.

    For XP:

    Click start button > search then click 'all files and folders'..that should open a box to enter the file name. In order to search for any modified /  accessed file regardless of name or type, just type *.* (read as star dot star) in the box and click the 'when was it modified' link to select a time frame for the search.

    If you click on 'specify dates' you can then select the option to search for all the files accessed / modified / created in whatever time frame you choose.

    Vista will have similar search options
