Im going cuba in october,can any1 give me any tips on things to do ,places to go see and anythin u think may be of use about the place thanks x

Santiago de Cuba is a fabulous place if you like salsa dancing...The music is absolutely wonderful and there are some great hidden bars. I was there 2 years ago studyign Spanish and loved it

Top tips:

get out and about, don't stick around the rest of the Brits, explore, see the real Cuba

Talk to the people, a lot of them are genuine and want to know more about life outside of Cuba.  But be aware there are some people who want to rip you off, they'll typically say that as a tourist you can get things cheaper for them and ask you to go into a shop and buy something then they'll pay you - this is a scam!  Don't fall for it!

Havana is a must!

The people there really struggle for things like pens. pencils, paper, toiletries, toothpaste etc.  Take a few extra bits and give them to people, pens etc for the kids for school.  Leave the last of your toiletries.

basically, get involved in the local culture.

When we went the thing that annoyed me most was the attitude of other brits.  One actually said - I think I'll come back in 5-10 years when its a bit more built up.  

What were they doing in Cuba!!!!!
