I'm going to be anywhere from the border of the DR and Haiti, to Santiago to Santo Domingo and I want to buy cigars for my friends back home (I don't actually smoke). How much would they be on average and how would I get them home?

  1. I've been to the Dominican Republic.  It seems like their whole economy is based on ripping tourists off.  I wouldn't trust anybody there to sell you a real Cuban cigar.  Anyway, you can't bring contraband cigars to America.

  2. i'm not too sure on how much they are and if you want to get them home just pack them in your SUITCASE, not your carry-on

  3. by law u cant bring cuban cigars to usa.

  4. Hi,

First off all be aware that there are Dominican cigars who are

far better than the Cuban ones. But anyway be cautious that some Cubans are fake here in the Dominican. So if you want to buy, buy always closed cases with the seal on it. There are some super good Dominican brands and the price is acceptable. Generally the Dominican cigar ( Churchill) and (Robusta) are the most buyed. A case (25) of Don Gonell "Churchill" is about 3.500 pesos (106 us) his cigar shop is in Puerto Plata near the church.
