Question:

Cubs/Brewers Series?

With the Cubs beating Sabathia today do the Cubs put themselves in a position to take this series. The Brewers basically need to face 3 more aces in Zambrano, Harden and Dempster.

Next 3 games

Zambrano (11-4, 2.96 ERA ) vs. Sheets (10-3, 2.87 ERA)

Dempster (11-4, 2.99 ERA) vs. Parra (9-3, 3.72 ERA)

Harden (since joing the Cubs 0-1 w/2 ND, 1.04 ERA 30K's) vs. Bush(5-8, 4.51 ERA)

I think if the Cubs can beat Sheets tomorrow they have a very good chance to sweep the Brewers and come out of Milwaukee with a 5 game lead.

  1. I have a feeling Brewers take the next 3 if they win tomorrow. They just look pumped. Cubs will still win division. My angels shall win it all though :)

  2. There is a possibility but a lot of things need to happen. Ramirez and Soto need to pick it up a little, they're not to scary right now. Also I don't think Wood will be back before this series is over. So Zambrano and Dempster need to work into the late innings to conserve the pen with Harden on a low pitch count. Samardzija, Gaudin, and Marmol could be the key to the rest of the series.

  3. Brewers will win the next 3.

  4. I don't see how the Brewers can win any of the games!

  5. I don't think the Cubs sweep & they only won the first game & aren't in a good position for  a sweep as someone stated.  it's only the first game of the series & take one game at a time & don't get ahead of yourselves.

  6. your a stupid flatlander!  but they just need to shake it off.

  7. I've got my broom out.

Odds are.. yea yea whatever. Hopeful die hard Cubs fan here, Heck, they are due for a sweep. That's right I said it.

And I agree about our chances after getting through CC.

They go in to tonight's game with health, fan support, and a h**l of a lot of confidence!

With  half the fans in the stands for the Cubbies, It is like playing at home!

  8. The Big Blue Train known as the Cubs offense is on the tracks again. CHOO CHOO!! They will sweep and eat Milwaukee.

  9. Surely you've noticed that the Cubs don't play well on the road. The Brewers are also much better at home. Home vs. road:

    Zambrano (5-4, 3.84 ERA ) vs. Sheets (4-2, 2.96 ERA)

    Dempster (1-3, 3.42 ERA) vs. Parra (5-1, 3.15 ERA)

Harden vs. Bush (4-2, 2.85 ERA)

That doesn't look as favorable to the Cubs, does it? It won't be easy for the Brewers, but it would be pretty shocking if they are swept. If I had to guess, I would predict a split.

  10. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. I don't think 1 game will tell you or anyone else what is in store the next 3 games. If you watched or listened to last nights game we didn't know what to expect from inning to inning.

    Eamus Catuli

  11. That was rude, Erin M. I don't think the Cubs will sweep, but they are in a good position to do so. The problem is that they have a tough time on the road.
