Cubs already World Series Champions?

Question

Even though at this point they are tied with Tampa and The Angels are just a half game behind them, I think that the Cubs have the best starting pitching, a good bullpen, and the best offense! Tell me what you think.

Most Cub fans have it figured that way. Shame that they have to play all the rest of the season, though. If they fail to make the playoffs it won't be the biggest fall in history. So far, their playoffs history hasn't been too good, either. So, while the Cub fans get drunk and high-five each other, the rest of us will watch the season and playoffs through. Then we'll know.

There is this thing called the playoffs!  Remember when the 83-78 St. Louis Cardinals WON the world series just a few seasons ago?  The best team doesn't necessarily end up the champions.  It would be great for the Cubs fans and the city of Chicago but you have to "play the games and win" before you can crown anyone the champs.

The Mike 7 is right. St Louis shouldn't have been in the playoffs and won the hole thing. The worst thing anyone can ever do is... well what you're doing now. Writing off 35+ games that are left lol.

They can win it all,  baseball is very wide open.  Anything can happen in the playoffs.  They have a shot if they can stay healthy

Do you remember the last time they were in the World Series? Of course not - no one here is a senior citizen! Until they prove they can ever get there - I will not believe it.

Cubs will make it to the World Series and face The Angels, although not too sure who would win. It would be a very close series.

Don't get too confident. Double the pride, twice the fall. In addition, it is NOT the best team in baseball. Even they are the best; you cannot really guarantee any teams to win it all until they win it. It is possible that CC win 2 games and Ben sheet win another two and Cubs lose in NLCS. In that case, they won’t even make it to WS.

I think they have a great chance though. May the curse be broken.

There is something called " A Playoff Bracket ". They could get eliminated in the finals but definitely in the World Series because of the " Billy Goat Curse " and if the Angels go to the World Series they can beat the Cubs so easily.

No I don't think so, there a just a couple flaws with them, like how Soriano gets himself injured carelessly like when he was doing that trot thing in the outfield and like sprained his ankle or something. I think next year will probably be theirs. Sorry for the spelling errors

Cubs do have a good team & are tied with the best record in baseball but having best record in regular season means nothing & ask the Seattle Mariners of 2001 when they won 116 games & lost in ALCS, 4 games to 1.  I still say get there first before thinking they have title already won
